I strive to capture the authentic early jazz guitar sound in my work, as a soloist in my own bands or when accompanying the best traditional musicians in the style.
I teach privately in Amsterdam, NL, online, and at Tim Kliphuis’ Django-Grappelli camp, Europe’s largest “Gypsy Jazz” workshop. For lessons in person or online, contact me here: nicksansonejazz@yahoo.com
I also enjoy working on guitars, doing restoration. I produce my own line of plectrums specifically for the early Django sound, and developed the Grappelli Mute for violin with the late Ger Boonstra. I wrote an Introduction to Gypsy Swing Improvisation manual for guitarists beginning to learn this music.

Lastly, I’d like to keep some of the rare footage and recordings of the best Django style musicians I know available, so here’s an archive of media I’ve collected over the years.
